Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the incoming majority leader of Ghana’s next parliament, has tasked the incoming administration and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) withstanding out by adhering to the values of accountability, integrity, and probity.
Speaking to parliament at its first session following the general elections on December 7, Dr. Forson underlined the need of the NDC putting Ghanaians’ needs ahead of its own political ambitions.
“May we never become like the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government,” he stated. “We have to be different. We cannot be like this NPP government. May we be guided by the principles of integrity, probity, and accountability.”
He emphasized that it was now time for the next government to make up for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) alleged shortcomings and fulfill pledges that would help the average Ghanaian.
Dr. Forson urged the incoming administration to steer clear of the past mistakes and reaffirmed the significance of people-centered policy.
He pointed out that voters, not the political class and their allies, should be the beneficiaries of government policy.
