The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South, Hon. Ransford Owusu-Boakye, has outlined key achievements, challenges, and strategic priorities of the Assembly during a Sessional Address delivered at the Third Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of the Third Assembly.
The meeting was held on 22nd December, 2025, at the Municipal Conference Hall and was attended by the Presiding Member, Honourable Assembly Members, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Heads of Departments and Units, invited guests, and members of the media.
In his address, Hon. Owusu-Boakye expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the development agenda of the Municipality. He noted that the address provided an opportunity to reflect on the Assembly’s performance over the year, assess ongoing challenges, and outline strategies that will guide development efforts in the years ahead.
According to the MCE, the Assembly has worked with unity of purpose to implement policies and projects aimed at improving the lives of residents. He highlighted progress made in key sectors including infrastructure, education, health, sanitation, and local economic development.
Focusing on General Administration, Hon. Owusu-Boakye stated that the department continued to play a critical coordinating role in ensuring effective governance, policy implementation, and efficient service delivery. The department provided administrative, logistical, and human resource support to all departments and decentralized agencies within the Municipality.
He explained that regular management meetings, Executive Committee sittings, sub-committee meetings, and General Assembly meetings were held to enhance planning, performance review, and decision-making, ensuring that the Municipality’s development agenda remained on track.
The MCE further disclosed that capacity-building programmes were organized for staff to improve skills in administrative writing, revenue collection, and smart workplace practices.
On statutory compliance, the Assembly successfully prepared and submitted key documents including the Annual Budget, Fee-Fixing Resolution, Composite Budget, and the Medium-Term Development Plan, aligning municipal activities with national development priorities.
Hon. Owusu-Boakye also mentioned improvements in logistical support through the procurement of essential office equipment, refurbishment of the Assembly’s main reception area, and maintenance of official vehicles to enhance monitoring and community engagement.
In the area of human resource management, he said the Assembly continued to implement the scheme of service, supervised staff performance appraisals, and ensured adherence to service delivery standards.
He concluded by commending the General Administration Department for providing effective leadership, coordination, and oversight, which contributed to the smooth functioning of the Assembly and the delivery of its mandate to the people of New Juaben South Municipality.
