Medeama SC goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi has expressed delight at his inclusion in Ghana’s senior squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
The Black Stars of Ghana will play South Africa on March 22 before hosting Sao Tome and Principe in the final Group C qualifier on March 30.
Ahead of the qualifiers, head coach CK Akonnor has handed call ups to 32 locally-based players which included the former Asante Kotoko shot Stopper. He was named among the four goalkeepers.
Ofori Antwi was outstanding for the Yellow and Mauve in 2019/20 truncated season and has again lived up to the billing in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Reacting to his call up, he said, “I’m happy and was really waiting for this call up to happen”.
“I will do my possible best to put a smile in the faces of my fans. They should continue to pray for me”. With God all things are possible” he said.
