Medeama SC midfield gem, Kwasi Donsu has thrown his weight behind President Akufo-Addo’s call for the resumption of football related activities in the country next month.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his last address to the nation on the measures taken against the spread of the Coronavirus lifted the ban on football as he announced October 30 at the date for the return of the Ghana Premier League and the Division One League.
“With respect to football, after due consultations with the Ghana Football Association, it has been decided that the Ghana Premier League and the Division One Football League will restart on Friday, 30th October 2020 with a full regime of testing of the players, technical and management staff,” President Akufo-Addo said.
However, the midfield enforcer of the Tarkwa based club has backed the decision by the president with regards to the date for the return of football in the country despite a session of football administrators proposing new dates.
Speaking to Koforidua based Bryt FM, he said, “I think October is a perfect date for the league resumption. We have a solid month before the season and I think that will be enough for us to prepare for the season”
“It will not be easy though but I think we can pick up in the course of the season. Even countries that resumed their league amid coronavirus struggled before they reached their peak. So I know ours will be same” he said.
