Mining companies have been reminded to oblige to payment of their dividends as Chirano Gold Mines, has paid $5m dollars as dividend to the government for the year, 2019.
The company did the same in 2018 as enshrined in their activities of paying to the government part of their profit as dividends.
Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, who received the cheque on behalf of the government, encouraged other mining companies to emulate Chirano Gold Mines for taken this good initiative which will go a long way to provide development for the people.
He added, “We see Chirano as Partners in development”.
He, therefore, used the platform to remind all mining firms that the government’s drive to audit the respective mining companies will continue to ensure that the nation obtains value for money and by extension total development.
“We will audit all mining firms to know what you are doing and how much you are earning to help us develop the country”.Chirano emphasized ” You have done well”, the minister emphasized.
