At the invitation of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, Energy minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh attended the inaugural lecture of Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson, Professor of Guidance and Counselling.
Professor Nyarko Sampson was the first person to serve as chairman of the governing council of the of the National Teaching Council (NTC) during my time as Education Minister and supported me tremendously, in our teacher agenda.
The minister was also privileged to be involved in his appointment as Vice Chancellor for the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya.
In my brief remarks, Dr. Opoku Prempeh expressed the privilege of having many friends in academia; relationships that have transcended my tenure as Education Minister.
He emphasised the need for a deepened collaboration between academia and industry as the synergy is a proven catalyst for nation-building.
In congratulating Prof. Nyarko warmly on his official robing into Professorship, the minister also wish him well in his endeavours as he navigates the rest of the academic trajectory.
