A delegation from World Vision Ghana Ghana led by its outgoing National Director, Mr. Dickens Thunde paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu.
The goal of the visit, among other things, was to deepen the bond between the two organizations and introduce the incoming National Director of the World Vision Ghana to the Minister.
The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to helping the government preserve the rights of children and the vulnerable while also sharing the goals of World Vision.
Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu praised World Vision Ghana for its dedication to human transformation and development, particularly in the fields of education and child protection.
She promised that the Ministry would work with World Vision to meet its goals.
Also visiting the Minister was a UNFPA Ghana delegation led by Dr. Wilfred Ochan, UNFPA’s Resident Representative.
Their call was to deepen its collaboration with the Ministry to ensure its priority targets are met.
Madam Susan Adwoa Mensah – Social Development Adviser, Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) – highlighted the need for awareness of child marriage.
On her part, Hon. Lariba Abudu indicated her Ministry’s readiness to step up its current partnership with UNFPA in an effort to prevent child marriage.
