Accompanied by a 28-member delegation, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister for Education, visited the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) at Otu Barracks in Teshie.
The visit was in response to an invitation from the College, signaling a potential partnership to enhance its academic offerings.
Dr. Adutwum recognized the global role of the military in maintaining peace and security and affirmed his Ministry’s commitment to supporting GAFCSC’s modernization agenda.
He pledged collaboration with the Ministry of Defence to seek parliamentary approval for transitioning the College into a university.
Assuring additional support, the Minister pledged to reinforce the College’s capacity by providing essential logistical support and committed to donating 20 laptop computers to facilitate their objectives.
Major General Bismarck Kwesi Onwonah, the Commandant of GAFCSC, expressed gratitude for the visit, considering it a historic moment for the College.
He expressed optimism that this collaboration would address prevalent academic challenges faced by the institution.
