The Ministry of Health has directed that free Covid-19 testing be done for a section of Ghanaians to help curb the spread of the virus.
A statement issued Thursday, January 27, 2021, by the acting Chief Director at the Ministry of Health Nana Boadu Oku-Afari said, apart from travelers who wants to be tested, all other persons who walk into a testing center ill, contact traced, or exposed to the virus must be tested for free.
Ghana currently has 3,813 active cases of Covid-19 and 377 deaths as of January 23, 2021. At least 600 cases are being recorded daily in the second wave of the virus.
A total of 62,751 cases have been recorded since March 2020 out of which 58,561 have recovered.
