At the invitation of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs, led by its revered King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the minister for Lands and Natural Resources engaged the Chiefs in the Region on the Land Act, 2020 (Act 1036).
The minister used the opportunity to explain some of the salient and innovative provisions of the law to the chiefs.
Mr. Samuel Abu Jinapor indicated the Government of President Akufo-Addo is committed to building an effective, transparent, responsive, and orderly land administration which is steeped in integrity.
He said Act 1036, which came into force on 23rd December 2021, provides us with a firm foundation to achieve this vision.
The minister stressed that, in the coming days, his outfit engages other Regional Houses of Chiefs, and, indeed, all stakeholders to ensure they fully understand the requirements of this new law.
Mr. Abu Jinapor however, thanked the Asantehene for his words of commendation and encouragement in respect of the work we are engaged in.
The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Lands Commission, and the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands is committed to implementing the provisions of the law to secure an efficient land administration.
