The Minority Caucus in Parliament has formally requested an audience with President John Dramani Mahama to deliver a petition addressing what it describes as “issues of great public concern.”
The request, conveyed in a letter signed by Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh, was submitted to the Presidency on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The caucus is seeking to present the petition at the Jubilee House on Thursday, July 24.
“I write on behalf of Members of the Minority Caucus to respectfully notify you that we have arranged to present a formal petition to Your Excellency at the Jubilee House on Thursday, 24th July,” the letter read.
It continued, “The petition outlines issues of great public concern that, in our view, require your fair-minded leadership and decisive intervention.”
While the specific content of the petition has not yet been disclosed, the language of the letter suggests mounting concern within the Minority over recent national developments.
Annoh-Dompreh also expressed confidence in President Mahama’s readiness to listen and engage constructively with the issues raised by the Minority.
