The minority in Parliament has served noticed to proceed to Court to challenged Attorney General’s decision to enter a nolle prosequi case of the republic V. Kwabena Duffour &7 Others.
The Ranking Member of Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Kwame Anyimadu- Antwi who double as MP for Asanti Akim Central, speaking at a press conference held in Parliament, expressed worry on the legal basis for the entry of Nolle Prosequi in the suit under reference by the Attorney General.
The caucus demands classification on what prevents AG from discontinue with the prosecution of the case.
“Does the Attorney General have the right to free offenders at his own discretion or is he obligated by law to procute and punish offenders in the country especially in cases involving grave financial crimes against the start”. He asked
