Accra, Ghana
The Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has called for full transparency and accountability regarding the missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers, which are reportedly worth over $700 million.
In a strongly worded statement, Rev. Fordjour raised critical questions about the whereabouts of the missing containers and the role of National Security in their evacuation.
Where are the missing ECG containers worth over $700 million?
Could the 706 containers evacuated by National Security be part of the missing 1,340 containers?
Has there been full accountability for the equipment and logistics in the 706 containers now in National Security’s custody?
Why was this evacuation by National Security never mentioned in any of the Energy Minister’s briefings?
Expressing frustration over the lack of clarity, Rev. Fordjour insisted that the government provide coherent answers to ensure full accountability.
“We need all the containers accounted for!” he stressed.
His concerns come amid ongoing investigations into irregularities in ECG’s procurement and clearance processes, which have raised alarms about financial losses and supply chain disruptions in the energy sector.
As pressure mounts, Ghanaians await official responses from the Energy Ministry and National Security on the unfolding scandal.
