Some 26 major markets in the Greater Accra Region will be closed down for mass fumigation and disinfection on Monday, March 23, 2020, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has announced.
Some of the markets include the Malata Market, Makola market, Madina Market, Shaiman Market, the Sege market, Agbogbloshi market, among others.
A statement issued by the Dean has asked all the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Executives to tsk steps to inform the market and residents and proceed to give the full effect of the directive.
The markets will, however, be open on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
