The Eastern Regional MMDCEs has donated GH₵ 100,000 to the COVID – 19 National Trust Fund to support people whose lives have been negatively impacted by the global pandemic.
The donation is towards the procurement of test kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to support increased testing and the protection of our front line health workers.
The trust, which is chaired by former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, is to receive public contributions to help improve the lives of the vulnerable who will be worst-hit by the pandemic.
President Akufo-Addo appealed to Ghanaians and institutions to support the fund to fight deadly diseases.
In response, the various MMDCEs in Eastern Region has donated the amount with the hope that people who are unable to fend for themselves because they have been infected, or whose businesses have come to a standstill as a result of measures to deal with the spread of the virus, will be able to get some reprieve.
