A Ghana-Colombia Business Forum was held as part of activities to mark a two-day official visit to Ghana by the Vice President of Colombia, H.E. Madam Francia Elena Marquez Mina.
The Forum, which was attended by Ghana’s Vice President, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was held on 7th September, 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
The Business Forum allowed business leaders and entrepreneurs from the two countries to forge partnerships and explore avenues for collaboration in the areas of agriculture, energy, technology, and trade.
At the end of the Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in higher learning was signed between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Ghana and the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Colombia.
Present at the event were the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister for Education, Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson.
Also present were the Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Mr. Yofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Ambassador Michael A. Oquaye Jnr. and the President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) Mr. Clement Osei – Amoako.
