Ghanaian international footballer Mohammed Kudus, who plays as an attacking midfielder and right winger for Premier League club West Ham United, returned to his former school, Nima Basic 1, on Monday, June 30, as part of his homecoming and community outreach efforts.
The 24-year-old visited the school as part of his “Kudus Dream” project — a give-back initiative he launched during his holiday break to inspire and support young people in his community.
As part of the visit, Kudus donated educational materials, toiletries, and Skechers football boots to the school.
“I’m just here to shed a little light on my story and how I got to where I am today. I started, like all of you, studying at this very school. But at the same time, I had a passion for football, just like most of you,” Kudus told the media during the event.
“In the football world, your basic education is important. You need to take it seriously. As a footballer, you need to be able to read your contracts, speak in interviews, and interact with people confidently.”
Prior to the school donation, the West Ham star also organized a community football gala at Kawukudi Park on Sunday, June 29, featuring 10 local teams.
