AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter has criticized Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu’s performance following defeat to Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.
Salisu wasn’t at his best as Arsenal inflicted a 3-0 win over the French Ligue 1 giants on Wednesday.
The former Southampton error in the second half gifted Arsenal their second goal, converted by Bukayo Saka.
The England forward had opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Harvetz sealed victory with two minutes remaining.
“At this level, it is not possible, not acceptable to make such mistakes that are downright gifts. And yet we were lucky that Arsenal missed a lot of opportunities,” he said after the game.
The mistake for the second goal proved crucial as it deemed Monaco’s improved display in the second half.
“On the other hand, I am really satisfied with the way we attacked the second half, playing the courageous football that I want to see,” continued Hutter.
“Once again we have a very young team, which was close to the equalizer. Unfortunately the gift on the second goal is too much at this level.”
