The Eastern Regional Coordinator of School Feeding Program Shirley Naana Osei Ampem says there is more room for improvement in the school feeding program.
She said this after visiting several schools to assess the quality of food being served the pupils.
Although she was impressed with the commitment of the caterers, Shirley Naana Ampem said more needs to be done to improve the quality of meals prepared for the school children to meet the purpose of the program.
“I’ve spent the past few days moving around schools in the region, quietly observing how meals are being prepared and served under the School Feeding Programme” She said
Shirley Naana Ampem added “It’s been heartwarming to see the dedication of our caterers and the smiles on the faces of the children. There’s still room for improvement, but progress is visible and encouraging.Grateful to everyone playing a part — from the cooks to the school heads and the supporting staff”.
