Executive Director at Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwa has confirmed that more than 20% of NPP voters who turned on the election day in 11 out of 16 regions voted for John Mahama.
He disclosed this below in a Facebook post on Tuesday morning:
“NPP still claims they lost the election because their voters did not come out to vote. Today, we present evidence from the exit poll that suggests otherwise as more than 20% of NPP voters who turned on the election day in 11 out of 16 regions voted for John Mahama.
The region with the highest defection from NPP to JDM was Savannah, 50%, Western North, 43%, Bono, 38%, Central, 38%, Volta, 32%, Ahafo, 30%, Upper East 23%, Eastern, 20%, Greater Accra, 20%, Upper West, 20% and Western, 20%, Bono East, 9%, North East, 9%, Oti, 8%, Ashanti, 5%.
Interestingly, Eastern region, one of the key stronghold of the NPP is top 8 in terms of ranking. Ashanti region in terms of percentage is relatively low, but since over 25% of NPP voters throughout the country are in the Ashanti region, in terms of absolute number, this will be huge and more devastating that combined effect defection of several smaller regions.
Significant number of NPP voters who voted in the presidential election, voted against the NPP according to the data from the exit poll”.
