The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced Morocco as host country for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The announcement came following CAF Executive Committee meeting, held on Wednesday, September 27 in Cairo, Egypt.
Gambia, who were initially billed to host the Africa’s flagship competition was stripped off the right over delay in preparation for the 24 nations tournament.
As a result, Algeria, Nigeria, Zambia and others submitted their bids as they aimed for the hosting right.
But Morocco bid garnered 22 votes over Algeria and Nigeria to win the hosting right.
