The Eastern Regional Secretary of the Ghana Journalist Association(GJA), Mr McAnthony Dagyenga has said that most Ghanaian journalists are facing financial challenges.
According to him, every employed journalist must meet a daily minimum wage.
He further suggested that the price of goods and services is very high, adding that every employed Journalist must be paid well to help improve a good standard of living.
Speaking to Abena Pokua Ahwenee on Dadi FM “Efa Wo Ho” Morning show, Mr McAnthony Dagyenga affirmed that the perception of the society is that every journalist is prominent and gorgeous because of the status and standard of airing grievances in favour of citizens.
“I don’t agree with some Chief Executive Officers in the media houses. Why have you employed a journalist without pay?” he asked.
Mr McAnthony Dagyenga averred that the Ghana Journalist Association is taking steps to provide essential needs for its members and urged every employed Journalist to continue the progress of the organization
The Ghana Journalist Association’s aim is to help improve the working conditions of every employed journalist in Ghana.
