A 32 year old motorbike rider, Christian Agyei has been fined Gh¢2,040.00 for causing harm to a three year old girl in Asamankese and in default, the accused will be sent to prison to serve 3 months in hard labour.
Christian Agyei was charged for three counts when he appeared before His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams in the Asamankese Circuit Court and the charges are, use of motorbike without Insurance, riding without license and Negligently causing harm to a three year old girl.
According to the Prosecution statement, the accused was driving in Anum-Bungalow road in Asamankese where he lost control and ran over the victim who was injured and was sent to Asamankese Government Hospital for treatment.
The statement said the three year old girl spent five days in the Hospital before she was discharged and her parents spent Gh¢151.40 on the victim.
Giving the breakdown of the fines in the court, His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams asked the accused to pay Gh¢1,200.00 for the use of motorbike without Insurance, Gh¢240 for riding without license and Gh¢600.00 for Negligently causing harm.
