A member of the Movement for Change team, Andrew Appiah Danquah, has urged Ghanaians to unite behind President-elect John Dramani Mahama to help restore the nation’s political credibility. Speaking during an interview, Danquah emphasized the need for collective effort to ensure the success of Mahama’s administration.
According to Danquah, the outcome of the recent election reflects the people’s desire for change and a fresh approach to governance.
He noted that Mahama’s leadership presents an opportunity to rebuild trust in Ghana’s political system and strengthen democratic values.
“It is time for us as Ghanaians to set aside political differences and work together for the common good. Supporting the President-elect is crucial to restoring political credibility and confidence in our institutions” Danquah stated.
The Movement for Change, an advocacy group championing national development and reform, has been vocal about the need for accountability and transparency in governance. Danquah expressed optimism that Mahama’s administration would prioritize these values while addressing pressing socio-economic challenges.
He also called on political stakeholders, civil society organizations, and the international community to play their part in ensuring a smooth transition of power and fostering a conducive environment for progress.
“Unity is key at this juncture. Ghana stands at a crossroads, and the world is watching. Let us rally behind the President-elect to move the nation forward,” Danquah added.
The appeal comes amid heightened political discourse following the election, with various groups and citizens expressing their expectations for Mahama’s presidency. Many are hopeful that his leadership will bring stability and meaningful reforms to the country.
As preparations for the inauguration of the new administration continue, Danquah’s call serves as a reminder of the importance of national unity and collaboration in shaping Ghana’s future.
