The Pru East Member of Parliament, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam has urged local and international private investors to tap into the agricultural value chain opportunities in the Pru East constituency of the Bono East Region.
Speaking to a section of journalists in Parliament, Hon. Boam highlighted the constituency’s vast lands, human capital, and rich soil, making it ideal for large-scale farming.
Emmanuel Boam believes these potentials make his constituency an attractive destination for investment. Hence, they are eager to receive more investors.
Additionally, the MP highlighted that Pru East boasts a peaceful environment in terms of security and convenience, making it an ideal location for various investments.
He emphasized the community’s readiness to support private investors interested in agriculture.
Emphasizing the community’s commitment to expand agriculture opportunities in Pru East, the MP noted stakeholders, including chiefs, opinion leaders, and his office readiness to protect and ensure the sustainability of all private investments.
To promote mechanized agriculture, Hon. Boam noted that Pru East has significant potential for targeted initiatives.
The MP also assured investors of a ready market for their products and access to raw materials.
He bemoaned the fact that, despite the area’s significant agricultural potential, many farmers remain peasant farmers who are unable to utilize these opportunities at a great height.
The newly elected Member of Parliament believes that the activities of peasant farmers in his area are not doing enough to tap into the agricultural value chain, prompting his call to invite more investors.
Mr. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam assured potential investors that there are vast tracts of litigation-free land available for acquisition at a relatively low cost for their farms.
Therefore, he invited private entities to invest their capital in Pru East.
