The National Investment Bank (NIB) has provided financial support amounting to Seventy-Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 72,000.00) to the Member of Parliament for the Salaga-South Constituency, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah.
The support follows a formal application submitted by the Honourable Member to facilitate the construction of boreholes in selected communities within her constituency, in line with her “One Borehole, One Community” initiative.
Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed has noted that access to potable water remains a major challenge in many communities across the constituency. According to her, residents particularly women and children are compelled to travel long distances daily in search of water for domestic use. This situation exposes communities to health risks, adversely affects school attendance among children, and undermines overall productivity and development.
In response to these challenges, the Honourable Member has embarked on an initiative to construct additional boreholes in communities where the geological conditions are suitable. She believes that this intervention will significantly improve living conditions, enhance public health outcomes, and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the constituency.
Upon receiving the cheque from the bank, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed expressed her profound gratitude to the Managing Director of the National Investment Bank, Chief Dr. Doli-Wura Zakaria, and the entire management and staff of the bank for their continuous support and cooperation in serving the needs of her constituents. She further pledged her commitment to ensuring that the funds are utilized strictly for their intended purpose.
