The Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has extended support to five communities in her constituency that were affected by a devastating rainstorm on Tuesday, 10th March 2026.
The affected communities include Salaga, Kpembe, Sisipe, Nkwanta, and Water Works. The rainstorm ripped off the roofs of several houses and destroyed properties belonging to many residents.
In response to the disaster, the MP donated 11 packets of roofing sheets, bags of rice, cooking oil, plastic buckets, and an undisclosed amount of cash to the affected victims to help cushion their recovery and support them in rebuilding their homes and livelihoods.
The items were presented on behalf of the MP by the Constituency Chairman, Haruna Abdul Aziz, together with officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), led by the Municipal Director, Tahiru Jawula Misbawu.
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the MP for her swift and compassionate response to the disaster, describing her gesture as a demonstration of motherly care and commitment to the welfare of her constituents during their time of need.
Prior to the donation, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah had tasked the Constituency Chairman and NADMO officials to visit the affected communities on Wednesday, 11th March 2026, to assess the extent of the damage and commiserate with the affected families on her behalf.
