David Opoku Ansah, the Member of Parliament for the Mpraeso constituency in the Eastern Region, has praised the Ministry of Information for its swift response in issuing a statement condemning the recent invasion of UTV studios during their entertainment program.
In response to a complaint lodged by the Despite Media Group and the Ministry of Information regarding the intrusion at U-TV studios, law enforcement authorities took immediate action, resulting in the apprehension of sixteen (16) individuals who are currently in police custody as part of ongoing investigations.
In a subsequent development, the Ministry of Information issued a statement on Sunday, October 8, 2023, strongly denouncing the act.
Richard Ahaigba, the Communication Director of the NPP, wasted no time and visited UTV shortly after the incident to distance the party from the actions of a small group of youth who claimed to be members of the NPP. He vehemently condemned their actions and called on the police to take appropriate measures.
The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso has called upon the NPP as a party to also issue a statement condemning the act. He stated, “We commend the Ministry of Information for their swift response! Now, we await the NPP’s statement. Let us stand united against any form of media attacks,” emphasizing the importance of collective opposition to such incidents.
