MTN Ghana has held its 2020 Mobile Money (MoMo) Agents and merchants Award ceremony in Koforidua to reward loyal, dedicated, and disciplined agents of MTN mobile money services in the Eastern part of the country.
The award ceremony was aimed at appreciating the agents for their hard work and to encourage other agents to emulate the same.
Over 55 agents were rewarded with citations and presented numbers of digital television sets, and smart mobile phones.
Three merchants were also rewarded with Motorcycles. The criteria for selection of the Awardees included how long an Agent had worked for MTN, the total number of quality customers an agent had registered, the volume and value of transactions, zero-incident of fraud recorded at an agent’s working location and customers’ feedback on the transaction by an agent.
Mr. Peter Obimpe, the senior commercial manager (South East) of MTN Ghana, said the Company needed to celebrate its agents who had contributed immensely to MTN.
Mr. Peter Obimpe expressed gratitude to the agents and merchants for their immense support to the brand in such a difficult year. He said, “This year has been a tough one anyhow you look at it, and our partners have proven to be tougher amid a pandemic.”
He also took the opportunity to encourage stakeholders and customers to remain vigilant in the fight against fraud especially as we approach the festive season.
He indicated that fraudsters keep revising their strategies as the business continues to intensify its fraud education. He reminded customers of the Three Golden Rules which serve as a weapon in the fight against fraud. He said,” Do Not disclose your pin; Do not let others transact on your behalf and Do Not discuss your wallet with any stranger”.
He said since 2014, the company has recognized the hard work and significant contributions of over 5000 agents and merchants.
