MTN Ghana has shut down its office in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital over coronavirus.
Mybrytfmonline.com sources indicate that the decision was taken after a former staff tested positive a few days after visiting the office to interact with his former colleagues.
Officials from Ghana Health Service through contact tracing have taken samples of the contact staff for testing.
As a result, MTN has since February 8, 2021, shut down the Koforidua Office. A notice on the front gate of the office did not state when the office will be reopened.
The notice however apologized to customers for the inconveniences caused.
Customers of the Telecom Company not privy to the circumstances leading to the shutdown of the office are worried.
They say the impromptu closure is unconvincing them since they are not able to have direct access to MTN customer care services.
Thirteen (13) more people succumbed to Coronavirus in the latest update on Saturday, February 13, 2021, increasing Ghana’s death toll of COVID-19 to 518.
The Ghana Health Service further announced 771 new cases of infections have been recorded bringing the total number of active cases to 7,754.
In total, Ghana has recorded 75,118 cases of the disease with a total of 66,846 recoveries
