Medeama SC goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi is hopeful of future Black Stars call-up despite Charles Akonnor ignoring him in his last call-up for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations double-header qualifier against Sudan in March.
Antwi, a former youth international, has been one of the top performers in the Ghana Premier League for the Tarkwa based club.
But Akonnor opted for Hearts of Oak’s Richard Attah.
In an interview, he reiterated that his outstanding performance in the local league will merit him a call-up going forward.
Asked if he surprised with Black Stars snub, he said, “I have more time ahead of me as a professional goalkeeper. I believe in God because he also works with time. So I’m certain that, with my consistence performance in the local league, I would be called to the National Team soon.”
