Member of Parliament for Abuakwa north, Gifty Twum-Ampofo has urged parents to be inclusive as far as ‘My First Day At School’ is concerned.
According to her, parents involvement will encourage the young ones have keen interest in attending school.
During a visit to some schools in the Abuakwa north municipality, the MP was not enthused with the outcome as compared to previous years and, therefore, called on parents and guardians to support the early childhood education of their wards.
Mrs Grace Adze-Wode, the Municipal Education Director who joined the lawmaker in sharing of school items to children who reported the very first day of school reopen also emphasized the need for parents to coordinate with schools to ensure the purpose of the initiative is well achieved.
She indicated her outfit’s commitment in achieving high quality education in the municipality especially when it comes to early childhood education.
She praised the MP for her continuous support to the education directorate over the years, which has positively impacted on general education of of pupils and students.
Meanwhile, Hon Gifty Twum-Ampofo took the opportunity to inspect ongoing projects in the municipality.
According to her, about 8 out of 13 ongoing projects have been completed awaiting commissioning and handing over.
The projects are sponsored by BADIA (Arab Bank), GALOP (World Bank) and Getfund respectively.
