The Northern Regional Correspondent for TV Africa, Baba Kamil has sustained a gunshot wound in the head during a sporadic shootings incident by the Police.
The incident occurred Saturday dawn.
The Journalist is currently at the Tamale Government Hospital receiving treatment.
Information gathered by mybrytfmonline.com indicates that a woman was arrested over alleged stealing during Friday Islamic prayers.
The arrest infuriated the community members who attacked the police officer and beat him to the pulp.
Armed police personnel were therefore dispatched to the community Saturday dawn to cause mass arrest amidst sporadic gunshot and brutalities.
The TV Africa’s Correspondent Baba Kamil moved to the scene to cover the incident. Whilst on duty the police resurfaced and started shooting sporadically again.
An object suspected to be a stray a cartridge hit the head of the Journalist and started bleeding profusely. Police officers at the scene identified him and rushed him to the Hospital.
