President Akufo-Addo is also expected to deliver a speech at the 75th-anniversary celebration of the formation of the North Rhine–Westphalia state on 23rd August 2021.
He is scheduled to address a ceremony at the North-Rhine Westphalia Academy of International Politics in Bonn as the guest of honor.
North Rhine-Westphalia is one of the leading economic regions in Germany and Europe, with key industries and thousands of successful small and globally famous medium-sized companies, as well as numerous headquarters of international conglomerates.
With a contribution of 22 percent to the German gross domestic product, North Rhine-Westphalia is the region with the highest economic power in Germany. If it was a sovereign nation in Europe, it would be close behind the Netherlands on rank no. 7.
Representatives of the British government and the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, will also take part in the evening ceremony on the grounds of the Düsseldorf racecourse. NRW has had a close partnership with Ghana for more than 20 years.
North Rhine-Westphalia was founded in 1946 by the British occupation authorities, which then resided in the Stahlhof, which is now the seat of the Düsseldorf Administrative Court.
The state was born on August 23, 1946: The state of North Rhine-Westphalia was formed from the northern part of the Prussian Rhine province with the administrative districts of Aachen, Düsseldorf, and Cologne as well as the Prussian province of Westphalia. (dpa).
