Former Minister of Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh seems to have eaten his own cake after the circulation of an agreement document on the government’s purchase of laptops for teachers across the country.
The current Energy minister is on record of denying being the signatory to the said agreement in an interview on Peace FM.
He pledged to resign as a minister should anyone prove his involvement in the contract with the necessary documents.
Teacher unions in the country have raised a series of concerns about the purchase of laptops at a cost of GHS 434,000,000.00.
The emergence of the document on social media has however attracted a lot of comments and opinions from the public, with most of them calling for his resignation as he pledged.
In the intercepted agreement document, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh copied the Hon. Minister of State, Hon. Deputy Minister of Education and the Chief Director dated 25th November 2020.
