The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, Hon. Ursula Owusu together with the Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority, Dr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako and other stakeholders have jointly launched the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
The campaign seeks to educate the public on the importance of digital safety and best practices in the face of growing cyber risks.
Hon. Ekuful appealed to all stakeholders to use digital platforms to campaign peacefully and factually rather than to spread fear and heighten tensions unnecessarily.
The general public is also encouraged to verify any suspicious information circulating online by calling the hotline 292.
The theme for this year’s Cyber Security Month is “Combating Misinformation and Disinformation in a Digitally Resilient Democracy:Our Collective Responsibility”.
The briefing was moderated by the Minister for Information, Hon. Fatimatu Abubakar.
