The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has welcomed what it calls a “reset” within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing the development as a step in the right direction for national unity and progress.
Ludwig Hlodze, the NDC’s Director of Logistics and Protocol, said the move signals a renewed commitment to constructive political engagement—an approach that aligns with former President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to rebuild Ghana.
Speaking at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference held in Accra on Saturday, July 19, Hlodze emphasized the importance of political parties reassessing their strategies in the interest of national development.
“Ghana is undergoing a reset process. It is important that we, as political parties, also reset our ideas, policies, and programmes,” he stated.
“That is why we are encouraged to see the largest opposition party in the country taking this step—to reset and engage in constructive criticism, and to support the nation builder, John Mahama, in rebuilding the Ghana we all desire.”
The NPP’s conference, themed “Rebuilding Together with Our Values,” has attracted national attention as a moment of reflection and reform following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.
