The NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Haruna Abdul Aziz, has delivered a message on behalf of the Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hon. Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimiah, during the 41st Farmers’ Day celebration.
Addressing participants at the event, Mr. Abdul Aziz expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the MP, noting that the annual celebration continues to resonate across the nation as a moment to honour the dedication and resilience of Ghanaian farmers.
He highlighted that the Farmers’ Day programme is designed not only to create jobs but also to reduce food inflation, empower the youth, and stimulate agricultural industrial development. He encouraged all residents of the municipality to take full advantage of the opportunities available through the programme.
On infrastructure, Mr. Abdul Aziz stated that one of the major challenges confronting farmers is access to good roads. To address this, the MP’s office is working tirelessly to rehabilitate critical road networks within the municipality. He announced that the rehabilitation of the Salaga–Kafaba road and the Kitoe Nkwanta–Kitoe road has been completed, while work is currently ongoing on the Nguan Mallam–Kupi road.
“These interventions aim to improve transportation, reduce post-harvest losses, and ensure that farmers can move their produce to market centers with ease. We will continue to prioritize road rehabilitation as a tool to enhance economic activities in the municipality,” he said.
Mr. Abdul Aziz also touched on concerns raised by residents of Kwuani regarding the long-awaited completion of their community center. He assured the gathering that the MP has initiated the necessary processes for construction to begin soon.
“By the grace of Allah, work will commence to bring the project to completion so it can serve the community as originally intended,” he added.
