The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal National Health Insurance Scheme Manageress, Mrs. Jennifer Kwatemaah Adu, has urged Ghanaians to patronize the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to ensure access to quality healthcare services.
Speaking with Hamza Mohammed, Mrs. Jennifer said the NHIS provides financial protection to subscribers against healthcare costs, including outpatient and inpatient services, surgeries, and emergency care.
She said NHIS subscription reduces out-of-pocket expenses for Ghanaians and ensures access to quality medical care when needed.
She added that the NHIS offers numerous benefits, including access to quality healthcare services at accredited healthcare facilities, financial protection against unexpected medical expenses, and reduced out-of-pocket expenses.
Nana Owoahene Yaw Achampong III, Abakomahene of Sefwi Chirano Traditional Area, said acquiring an ambulance would significantly enhance the community’s emergency medical services. Ambulances play a vital role in providing immediate medical attention and transportation to patients in critical need. With a dedicated ambulance, the community can ensure timely interventions, potentially saving lives and reducing morbidity rates.
He appealed for the expansion of their health facility to cater to a larger population, providing essential healthcare services.
He also appealed for upgrading the nurses’ quarters to attract and retain skilled healthcare professionals.
