The Supreme Court is out with its verdict on the 7 constituencies that were recollated by the Electoral Commission as petitioned by the NDC.
Out of the 7, the recollation of 4 constituencies: Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Techiman South have been quashed (invalidated).
The SC says the rule of natural justice was breached by the High Court in the hearing of the matter concerning the recollation of results for these constituencies.
The SC has now ordered another High Court to reconsider the NDC’s application.
Meanwhile, the results for Nsawam Adoagyiri and Ahafo Ano North Constituency have been upheld.
The High Court is expected to hear the Mandamus application at a different High Court on Tuesday, 31st December,2024.
All parties are expected to file their application and writ before then.
This legal battle stems from a December 20 decision by the Accra High Court, which directed the EC to finalize and announce results in Tema Central, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central.
