The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Regional Executive Committee (REC) has successfully completed the first phase of vetting for Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) aspirants in the Eastern Region.
A total of 77 aspirants from 10 constituencies were vetted during the exercise, which ended on a positive note.
The constituencies were Afram Plains North and South, Atiwa West, Mpraeso, Akyem Swedru,Achiase, Ofoase Ayirebi, Asuogyaman, Upper Manya, Yilo and Lower Manya Krobo
According to the Deputy Regional Secretary of the NDC, Kade Boateng, the process was smooth, with aspirants demonstrating high levels of preparedness and commitment.
“We wish to thank all aspirants for supporting and ensuring that the process was a success. Almost all the aspirants who applied were qualified, and whoever emerges and is selected will be someone who will propagate the ideals of the NDC in their constituency,” he stated.
The REC expressed gratitude to the aspirants for their cooperation, which significantly contributed to the success of the process.
The party assured its members and the public that nominees who eventually emerge will possess the skills and dedication to lead at the Municipal amd District Assemblies.
The second phase of vetting for the remaining constituencies is expected to commence soon, with the Regional Executives Committee looking forward to engaging with the next set of aspirants.
This vetting exercise forms part of the NDC’s broader strategy to ensure capable leadership in various districts and municipalities across the region.
