A total of 124, 256 out of the 281,435 existing NDC members in the Volta region have had their membership ID cards replaced during phase I of the party’s nationwide digital membership ID cards replacement exercise which officially ended on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
120,000 of the existing members have subscribed to the paper card whilst 4,256 have subscribed to the plastic card.
This implies that about 157,179 of the existing members including 18,378 members in the Hohoe constituency are yet to have their membership ID cards replaced.
The party will soon organise an outreach program in the Hohoe constituency to kick start the ID cards replacement exercise and subsequently register new members.
Phase II, of the exercise which is the registration of new members into the party, starts from today, Saturday, May 21st to June 7th, 2022.
The party is of the view that whilst registering new members into the party, the constituencies will take the opportunity to do mop-up replacement of the ID cards for all existing members who couldn’t have their cards replaced before the May 15th deadline.
We thank all our hard-working Constituency and Branch Executives, Members of Parliament, former MDCEs, former MPs, former ministers and other former appointees, the cards replacement committees and all other stakeholders whose various contributions accounted for the success of phase I of the exercise in the region.
Phase II of the exercise requires equal support and cooperation from all of us since this would further enhance the party’s chances of winning the 2024 general elections.
