The Western north regional chairperson for the opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr Michael Aidoo (Big Aidoo) has called on the party to allow the erstwhile President, H. E John Dramani Mahama to go unopposed in the party Presidential primaries.
According to him, the former President has the genes and the power to win densely for the party come 2024 polls.
He expressed that, though the NDC understands democracy, but he believes the decision to allow the former President go unimpeded will help the party.
“Yes, I support John Dramani Mahama and we presumably need a leader who can win power for the party. I think we should allow him to go unopposed. Since he has the fortitude to win power for us,” he affirmed.
Responding to the purported higher rate of filing fees for both flagbearership and parliamentary positions of the party, he offered it should have been higher since the tool of raising funds to run the affairs of the party.
He stated “I think there is nothing wrong with paying a significant amount vying for a position in a party that will apparently win an election. We are in opposition, and these are some of the means we can raise funds to reinforce the affairs of the party.”
Mr Michael Aidoo reports he is very optimistic the party will claim extra parliamentary seats, chiefly in the Western north region.
“It fully prepared us to win more parliamentary seats in the western north region. I will compel all and sundry to come together to accomplish our transcendent objectives,” he concluded.
