Sam Nartey George, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, believes that anyone willing to contest the party’s flagbearer race with John Dramani Mahama in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is wasting their time.
He has indicated that if all the candidates were merged, he, Sam George, could defeat them; showing they are unpopular in the NDC.
He revealed this in an interview with Accra-based Joy Prime.
“You are saying, what If Mahama is not the flagbearer of NDC? Oh, how? With the greatest of respect to them, if I stand, I will beat the two of them, how much more John Mahama? Me I have fans in the NDC than the two of them combine,” he said when told Kojo Bonsu and Dr. Kwabena Duffour are lacing their boots to contest the former President.
2023 will see members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) going to the polls to choose a flagbearer to lead the party in the 2024 general elections.
John Dramani Mahama has not declared his intentions, although he has been identified as the presumed leader of the Ghana’s major opposition political party.
