The Northern Regional Chairman aspirant for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Hassan Rufai Vellim has said that rewarding loyalty and unity in NDC are the centre stage of his work when voted as the party’s chairman in the next executive elections.
Alhaji vellim who is the incumbent vice chairman of the party said this in a press statement copied to radiotamale.con following his vetting on Monday, October 17, 2022, adding that these among the rest will make the party “an electoral winning Machine” in future.
“My vision is to make the party an electoral winning Machine. A party that creates opportunities for all, a party that truly recognizes and rewards hard work and loyalty. A party that motivates the rank and file to be part of the building process”, he stated in the release.
“At the heart of the party programs, it is at the heart of my candidacy to fashion out a strategic policy aimed at uniting the party in the coming months to win the 2024 elections. I am determined to restore the much-needed party unity at all costs”, he added.
According to him, he will create opportunities and avenues for everybody or groups who are desirous of seeing the NDC recapture power to participate in making the party strong in the region.
He also said he shall reach out to everyone and at all levels of the party, building a very strong “coordination mechanism” among the various organs of the party such as the parliamentary caucus, CDRs, the youth groups, women groups, and elders of the party.
Alhaji Vellim will be contesting against four (4) aspirants including his colleague vice chairman, Mr Ali Adolf John, who was appointed to continue the unexpired term of the late Chairman Ibrahim Abdulai Mobila who died a few months ago.
The rest are former Regional Organiser for the party, Godfred Wumbei Apaasinaba, former propaganda secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk and Professor Abdulai Salifu.
