Dr. Rashid Tanko, Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed concerns over incorrect serial numbers on ballot papers that were meant for the Ahafo and Volta regions.
According to Dr. Tanko, the party’s agents notified them of the discrepancy, which was later confirmed upon investigation.
This statement was made during an interview with Kwamina Sam Biney on Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem.
Dr. Rashid Tanko emphasized that such a mistake could have led to a significant number of rejected ballots in the December general elections.
He stated the NDC after noticing the errors informed the Electoral Commission that it would not accept the ballot papers unless the issue was resolved.
“The mistakes are coming from the printing house because they generates the serial numbers and not the Electoral Commission”.
“Our eagle eyes are working and we are using it to check on any actions either deliberate or not, we will catch you because John Mahama is winning this election and this is how we are doing our work”
He assured the NDC is closely monitoring the situation to prevent any deliberate or unintentional errors on the election day.
