The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has put on hold three constituencies in the Eastern region in the ongoing parliamentary nominations across the country.
Afram Plains South, Ayensuano and Akwatia Constituencies are the three constituencies are on hold by the party to handle some internal issues.
Baba Jamal, the Eastern Regional Secretary of the NDC made this revelation to Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon of Koforidua-based Bryt Fm.
Filing of nominations for parliamentary hopefuls takes place between Wednesday, February 22 to Friday, February 24.
He said the party is coming back to power in 2025 as many individuals have shown seriousness by picking up nomination forms to contest the parliamentary seats on the ticket of the NDC in the Eastern region.
Baba Jamal stated that the party is ready to win many parliamentary seats in the upcoming 2024 elections.
The party will hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023, to elect a flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 elections.
So far, names of two personalities; former President, John Dramani Mahama; a former Minister of Finance, Dr Kwabena Duffuor has also shown their interest to lead NDC in the presidential race for election 2024.
