Flagbearer of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has indicated the readiness of the party to upgrade several Municipal Assemblies to Metropolitan Assemblies if voted into power.
John Dramani Mahama stressed that some of the Municipal Assemblies rapid growth make it essential to upgrade it to be able to fit the current status.
He noted that a Metropolitan Assembly means that more opportunities would be available to the area.
“We will upgrade several municipal assemblies to metropolitan assemblies” – John Dramani Mahama (former president and flagbearer, NDC)” he said.
This was contained in the party’s manifesto for 2020 elections which were launched in Accra on Monday.
