The Youth Wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region has welcomed the Suspension of former Regional chairman of the party, Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs by the Functional Executive Council.
The Youth is optimistic that Mr. Allotey Jacobs will submit himself to the needed disciplinary procedures while availing himself to the opportunities enshrined in the NDC constitution to possibly clear himself of the charges that merited his suspension in the true interest of the party as a senior party folk worth his sort.
A statement issued and signed by Eric Dadson Central Regional Youth Organizer said they don’t know group calling itself “Concerned NDC Youth in Central Region who are calling for the reinstatement of the suspended former chairman.
The NDC suspended Bernard Allotey Jacobs, for what it describes as “persistent anti-party conduct.”
A statement signed by the party’s National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, said the decision was taken after a meeting held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the party which acted on behalf of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Bernard Allotey Jacobs’s suspension takes immediate effect in accordance with “Article 46(1), 46(6) and 46(8)(b) of the party’s constitution,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, Bernard Allotey Jacobs says his suspension from the party will not stop him from telling the truth.
“Have my own independent mind and I will always stand for the truth and if the party dislikes it and for that reason, they are suspending me that’s beautiful.”
