The National stakeholders forum organized by the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Mamah came off on Tuesday at the Kanda mosque.
The forum was graced by the National Chairman Hon Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
He touched on the need to strengthen the Zongo Caucus in order to undertake it’s major responsibility of organizing the party in the Zongos.
He said the Zongos have been faithful to the NDC and that as chairman he will ensure the needs and aspirations of the Zongos are met when the NDC assume the reigns of power next year.
Party stalwart Alhaji Hudu Yahaya took participants through the formation of the Zongo Caucus and the role Zongos played in the formation of the party.
The National Zongo Caucus coordinator who welcomed participants urged them to campaign vigorously in every community to let Ghanaians know that it’s only the NDC who has the Zongos at heart.
Deputy heads of special duties Lawyer Atta Mohammed and his colleague Hon Kale Caesar took participants through the Zongo Caucus regulations which will serve as a guide in the structure of the Caucus.
Also present were Hon Yusif Jajah- MP for Ayawaso North, Mr Vincent Kuagbenu -Head of special duties, Alhaji Yahaya Kundo- NEC member and deputy organizer Mr Elikem Kotoko who represented the national organizer.
All 16 Regional coordinators, some Chiefs, business men and women, key figures in the Zongos and other party members were present at the forum.
Participants expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the party leadership for this forum and pledged to work hard to win 90% of votes in the Zongos to elect John Dramani Mahama as President come December 7th.
